The Regal Jazz Band is a seven piece Dixieland aggregation based in Collingwood and the South Georgian Bay area. They have appeared at Festivals, played concerts throughout Central Ontario and have developed a well deserved loyal following in the region. The group doesn't stray far from their traditional roots but have a wide ranging repertoire of authentic, traditional favourites.
Fig Leaf Jazz Band The “Figs” just celebrated their 34rd anniversary of “Mayhem” playing traditional New Orleans influenced Jazz. The Figs are the "House Band" for the Simcoe County Jazz Society. Much like old cheese they are aging well (and smell about the same). Always entertaining the between songs banter is always worth the price of admission..
Eh Train are a well established Georgian Bay Area band. Led by the piano stylings of Jim Kinnear and featuring ‘Toots’ Lawrence on trumpet, Bob Muir on trombone and the stand up bass of Ron Lombard the band has a large repertoire of Jazz standards.
Mae Cromwell and the Mae Cromwell Band. and her very funky band are one of Toronto’s musical treasures. A feature of The Beaches Jazz Festival since the ‘90s fans and music critics know the Mae Cromwell Band guarantees “great music and great times” Whether she’s rockin’ it in one of Toronto's hottest dance clubs or funkin' it up at one of Ontario's Summer Festivals it's always fun and good times with Mae cromwell.
Jay Douglas & The All-Stars This award winning outfit is one of the most entertaining and versatile groups in Canada. Led by the dynamic and soulful Jay Douglas they play a range of music ranging from mainstream Jazz through R&B, Reggae, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Pop Hits and even country music all delivered in an authentic fashion. Voted the No. 1 R&B band in Toronto 2007 and No. 1 Reggae Band 2008 by the "Now" magazine poll Jay Douglas and the All-Stars blow audiences away everywhere in Canada and beyond..
Quattro and Quattro + 1 Smooth Jazz for the new millennium, this quartet/quintet have a great take on jazz standards and their own original music. These versatile veterans are at equally at home with up tempo tunes, ballads or latin material The band features Stuart Steinhart on six string electric bass, Bruce Campbell on drums, Rob Gasidlo on piano. Don Buchanen, saxophones joins the group to provide a fuller quintet sound. The rich and expressive voice of Diana Campbell is front and centre on most numbers.
Jay Jackson & The Majestics This veteran group has been ‘Wowing’ audiences across Canada for years and they remain one of the most energetic Rockin’ R&B show bands around. Lead singer Jay Jackson brings his charismatic personality and charm to the stage and critics say his voice is better than ever.
Oscar's Strut A unique Rockin' Blues Band led by a big voiced, hot harp playing, very attractive little girl, backed by a funky, hard driving rootsy band. Little Lisa Gibson and the boys present everything from blues standards to classic funky rock and beyond, tunes chosen for their appeal to audiences of all ages. Hot guitar and keyboard licks, a rock solid rhythm section, 4 vocal leads, tight harmony back ups provide for a great performance every time out. Oscar's Strut = Party Time!
Ross Neilsen Ross eats, sleeps and breathes the blues. A front of the line member of the Fredericton NB blues scene since 2005 Ross has received 2 nominations from the prestigious East Coast Music Awards and been the winner of 2 CBC 'Rising Star' awards. Ross keeps busy making 150+ appearances yearly with his band or as soulful single act never straying from his solid delta blues roots.
Louis LeFaive and The Kings of Swing Louis LeFaive and his always entertaining band combine most genres of Jazz and play in an energetic and always fun fashion. They have an extensive repertoire from all eras of jazz; from traditional Dixieland and swing to more modern R&B, blues and funky stuff. The dance floor is never empty long when Louis and The Kings of Swing are in the house.
